Samsung Brightside-- what apps does it have, and what are its problems?

I am considering upgrading my phone to a Samsung Brightside because I heard it is kind of like a smartphone but without the necessity for a data plan. Does it have apps (like calendar or tasks) that make it like a smartphone?

But, I also read it has issues with T9 and with the alarm function! Is this accurate?

It did mess up with the T9 and the alarm. After I did a software update I had no issues.I have 1 ? does anybody know how to put apps or games on the phone. I've tried different ways downloading of the net from phone phone says down load not supported , I've tried e-mailing it, and tried drag and dropping it to the phone using usb. The usb way it don't see it until I change the file name then it doesn't do anything. Thanks
