If you still have your iPhone, why not just get a SIM for now to activate the line... then sign on the dotted line when the One X comes available (if it isn't already)? That way, you're free to go either direction.

Well, when we first went to Verizon, the service was great. No issues at my house or any where. Now the past month, our service has gone down hill. We still get good signal at our house, but we get virtually no internet speed. So we can't browse the web, use facebook, etc. It either takes a long time to bring pages up, or doesn't and has a network error.
Speed tests showed this below. Network engineers have out to our area multiple times and all they do is come back and say nothing is wrong in our area. I told them to come to my house so I can show them the issues. It isn't in my house but around my house and area. I can be at the gas station, or the McDonalds down the street and have the same issues, but not at work, or anywhere else in town. The first supervisor I talked to this morning said well something changed in the area and we have no control over that. It's not our service that is the problem. I told them it is and nothing will change in the area that will cause an issue like this other than your tower having problems.
Originally I would get 20 meg down, 20 up. Then it went down to 16 down and 6 up, then 6 down, maybe 1 up to 300-500kb down and 200kb up to sometimes not working.
After not getting anywhere with her, I called back and talked to another supervisor, which then reviewed the Data Center Tech support notes and the engineers which then cleared the ETF and canceled my contract. They put the date to todays so I can port out tomorrow back to AT&T. So the grass is not always greener on the other side sadly.
I had iphone 4's with AT&T before, then went to Razr Maxx's with Verizon. Probably sell those to get back the costs, but does everyone recommend the 4S's now? I know the HTC One X is not available and if it was I would get it. But I am on a timeframe with Verizon that I need to port out before Saturday. I have had the Samsung Skyrocket but had issues with it not working with my car stereo half the time for calls, and battery life was not good. Let me know your opinions!

Firstly, welcome back.
Secondly, do you still have accessories and apps that you use on the iPhone... in other words were you commited to iPhone while you had it!?
If not, fire away on that LTE goodness that is the HTC One X!!!
Samsung is running the game right now!!!
You can probably find one in stock at a physical store though. They got some into the country before they got stopped at customs. AT&T stores, Best Buy, ETC. Looks like an awesome phone. Was going to take my iPhone and trade it until I saw the multitasking issues some people were having. Sure it will get fixed just a question of how long.
I sold my iphone 4's that we had so I don't have any AT&T phones. Though, I can borrow two iphone 3Gs's from work that have been sitting in a cabinet for a long time. Use those till the new iphone comes out. Does anyone have a date when that will happen? Also AT&T won't put me on contract right?
If you supply a phone there shouldn't be a contract but I would make sure afterwards just to make sure since mistakes can happen
You should port to a prepaid company until you're ready to sign a contract. Straight Talk is $45 a month for AT&T service and you won't be stuck with a contract and can port out at any time. The service will work with your iPhone 3Gs's without them being unlocked. When Apple comes out with the iPhone 5, then you can port to AT&T and sign those contracts. Or you might like prepaid so much that you won't even port out and never be stuck on a contract again.
I don't really expect a new iphone anytime soon for some reason....thinking it will be pushed back like last year.
Well I have 3 phones so prepaid won't work. If the iphone won't come out, then I will figure something out then.![]()
I just went to AT&T's website and put together a package for 3 iPhones...
A family plan with 1400 shared minutes = 89.99/month for 2 lines plus 10.00 for the third. Data is 30.00/month per phone for a total of 90.00/month. Add to that family messaging with free mobile to mobile calling for another 30.00/month for a grand total of 220.00/month.
3 iPhones = 200.00 x 3 = 600.00
24 months service = 220.00 x 24 = 5280.00
Total after 24 months = $5880.00
3 lines on Straight Talk with unlimited talk and text and quasi-unlimited data is $135.00/month.
3 iPhones = 650.00 x 3 = 1950.00
24 months service = 135.00 x 3240.00
Total after 24 months = $5190.00
Am I missing something here?

I switched from AT&T to Verizon and my experience is identical to yours. If I could get back on AT&T I would return in a minute.
Yep, personally I don't want prepay. To me it's more of a hassle and I would need to purchase the 4S outright and I have to leave Verizon by tomorrow. So don't have the time.
