Thumbs down boost or sprint doing evrything wrong

ive been a boost customer for 8 yrs, very disappoitned they are decomissioning the iden towers,i got the walkie talkie phone for the convenience of the ptt feature which i can communicate with my family down in mexicali, plus with shrinkage program and unlimited plan that was the lick, they are going to lose alot of customers especially in the baja ca market, people with boost,i know that the truly depend on ptt, very bad,now you have force them to buy a android phone or compatible cdma phone with ptt or dc in which they dont have right now, very backwards decommision iden towers before having a cdma phone compatible with ptt or dc,having to wait for how long for a cdma phone with the compatibility, they should widen the coverage if they are going to the cdma, especially in the baja ca mkt tijauna mexicali, what were they thinking of shouldnt they have thought of the mexico mkt,ive bought my wife the samsung prevail last yr in july and doesnt work in mexicali, thats why i had to revert back to the walkie talkie for its usability ,hopefully someone on this forum sees my point of view

believe me there is a lot of people including me who hate the fact sprint is doing this, but they are and nothing we can do to stop them. Eventually the sprint direct connect will be good enough to make communication work for international DC but will never be as good as iden was. Hopefully NII will take over. I wouldnt bet on it though

Would the Verizon and AT&T plans that include calling in and between the US and Mexico be a reasonable alternative?

Of course, the charges will be considerably more with AT&T/Verizon. Then again, it is better than paying the better part of $1/minute for voice from Mexico.

You can look up the plans that include voice roaming in Mexico on their respective websites.

International PTT (both from the US and from outside the US) was one of the great things about Nextel. I doubt a boost CDMA phone will ever allow roaming outside the US.

From a business point of view I guess that Sprint has decided that getting rid of iDEN is more important than the customers in markets near the border than depend on it. Presumably someone ran the numbers and has an estimate of what that cost will be.
