Is there a true Verizon "worldphone" that supports LTE?

Thinking about switching to a new 4G phone while I can still get unlimited data.

But I travel a lot and want a Verizon phone that supports

CDMA 1x, at least rev A (so Verizon works in the USA)
    UMTS/WCDMA
    LTE
    and ideally still GSM.

Not too worried about whether it is locked or not, Verizon has been good about unlocking in the past. Obviously all relevant frequencies have to be supported as well.

Went into the Verizon store and didn't see anything. LTE phones are labeled "Global Ready" or something like that but that just appears to mean it has LTE.

Anyone know if a phone like this exists yet? If not, I might have to have 2 phones, which I would prefer to avoid.

Many of the newer LTE phones do have GSM radios in them in addition to CDMA and LTE. However, Verizon is keeping these locked down for the time being, though they have said that this is only until they make some changes to their own network. Not sure I understand it all...

However, I know the HTC Rezound at least has been successfully run on GSM networks. In fact, Droid-Life had an article up today about one of the recently released custom ROMs for the Rezound called "Venusaur," which apparently has strong support for use on GSM networks. If this is a must-have, I would definitely look into this as a possibility.

Other than that, you'll have to wait and see if Verizon ever releases patches to allow the use of the global radios in the other devices. Off the top of my head, I believe the Droid 4 has the global radios (locked) in it, and I think the RAZR and RAZR MAXX have them as well. The Galaxy Nexus I know does not have global radios in it, which is a damn shame.

Fascinating, but does that mean they don't have UMTS/WCDMA, even if it is locked down? That's far more useful these days than GSM when travelling, especially in Europe.

I'm not completely sure what the radio situations are with devices other than the Rezound. I just remember doing some light reading on the status of the Rezound's radio, and it seems that it does indeed have UMTS/WCDMA support. It successfully connects to data networks (although the process is definitely a little rough and time-consuming, unless more progress has been made that I was unaware of), and it seems that the inability to receive SMS messages was remedied on at least one custom ROM. If you're interested in the Rezound's situation, I would suggest reading up on it in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1421341

I did test a T-Mobile USA feature-phone sim in my Rezound and was able to make and receive a call. However, I did not test text messages nor data.

Well that's great for anyone only on a GSM network. But for anyone who might wish to hope from CDMA to GSM and back, or for the globetrotter, then yeah, that sucks. :\

HTC Rezound is your answer. It's a world phone without the official Verizon support which is coming out very soon.

Thanks to everyone for the info. There is urgency to this request since I'd like to get an LTE phone BEFORE Verizon drops grandfathering unlimited data. Guess I have to get a phone like the HTC Rezound in the hopes that Verizon will take this action!

The Droid 4 ICS update to 4.0.4 has global support out of the box.

US GSM carriers are locked out however, so no using it on ATT or T Mobile without some modification.

Droid RAZR M/HD MSM8960 does HSPA+ on US GSM carriers!

Problem is this press release only cites GSM, does that mean no UMTS support? Ditto for the other phones mentioned in that article: the Droid and the LG Spectrum.
