I've been tracking my Mobilicity data with NetLimiter. I installed NetLimiter so I would not reach 100MB in 15 minutes but it also shows the speeds I am getting. From 1am to 8am I get good speeds average 180-200KBps but I have to cap it to something like 110KBps so I don't hit 100MB in 15 min. Any other time between 8am and 1am I can't even hit 100MBps in 15minutes. I tested and the average speed throughout the day was 40KBps. The average speed during peak hours was 12KBps or less and pretty much unusable. When I first signed up back in Oct. 2011 the speeds were so much better and Torrents weren't blocked. Now everyday the speed gets slower and slower and will continue to get worse unless Mobiicity upgrades the towers. The thing that frustrates me most is that sometimes the data just doesn't work and takes forever to load and when I'm using Google maps and trying to get directions or find a place to eat, waiting 2-3 minutes for it to load is not cool.
One other thing is the data is so unstable, 1 second I get 2.5KBps, the next I get 70KBps. I'm at Dundas and Coxwell. If I didn't sign up for the 1 year plan, I would probably go to another company.
Here is the data for 60 second period, 70KBps being the max, green line is download and red is upload. It just shows how unstable Mobilicity's Data is.

Oh oh... Dont tell me you used torrents over mobi data. The reason data degrades is because people do this kindof crap over a $10 mobile data plan.Torrents weren't blocked
I'm sorry, but what someone refers to 2.0Mbs as "crazy fast" I can't help but scratch my head. My signature shows my last Speedtest while tethered with a BB 9790 to my laptop. It was taken in the Dixie/Cawthra area of Mississauga at about 2:00pm if I remember correctly and is indicative of the sorts of speeds I'm getting these days. I usually hit between 0.8-1.0Mbs for upload but overall WIND's data has really improved in the last year. Incidentally, in phone tests are significantly faster and next time I do one I'll take a screen shot.

My comment was never intended as a dig against Mobi but they do need to pull their finger out regarding their data speeds. I was in a WIND store yesterday and there was a sign up that I could see through an open door to the employee area saying, "It's all about the data" and that pretty much sums up how most users are thinking about their usage. It IS all about the data whether Mobi thinks so or not. A few weeks ago Stuart Lyons posted on Twitter his data speeds taken at various locals around Toronto, and I honestly was going to Twitter him back and ask him to stop before he embarrassed himself any further. He seemed quite proud of them, but in all honesty all he was doing was reinforcing to Mobi customers that their speeds won't get any better if this is what the big chief thinks is good, and people on other carriers were further convinced not to consider switching. I have to say that it wasn't half as bad as Booth's Alex Perrier tweets that followed.
Just as an aside, I just ran an in phone test at Yonge and Front in Toronto, download speed was 7,356.413Kbps and ping was rated at 0.801 seconds, transferring a simulated file size of 7,000KB. Have taken a screen shot and will post later.
Sorry to TJ, but to OP, was your pp a city launch pricing? How's it $10 lower than what it should be now? What is it called?

The Jawbone I, photo-review
I did download a couple programs through torrent in Oct 2011. I actually received a call from Mobilicity that they will terminate my account if I use too much bandwidth. Surprising to think they will do that course of action. The big 3 would never even consider doing something stupid like screwing over one of their customers. I heard lots of stories of Mobilicity terminating people's accounts with no warning.
Anyway, I just posted about torrents because before there was good speed + Torrent but now it's bad speed and restricted data. Meaning the problem with the network is probably too many people.
I think Mobi is saving money for 700-MHz wireless spectrum and not putting enough money into upgrading for all the new customers they are getting.
