I have a BB 9550 that was originally a Verizon device. I have a friend in a GSM dominant country who needs a BB.
So long as the phone is unlocked -- would she be able to use a prepaid Blackberry plan with a GSM carrier -- even though the phone was originally intended for a CDMA carrier?

These are the two carriers my friend would be using the phone on - --

or Vodafone Qatar http://www.vodafone.qa/
would it be better if I could just get my friend an unlocked GSM Blackberry -- or could this BB 9550 work ?
To the OP, your friend would be much better off with a GSM/HSPA/UMTS only BlackBerry and not a CMDA/GSM device.
