What does that even mean?
I'm curious too as I kept hearing about closing down. I thought it was only the kiosks that were closing down but now I'm reading otherwise.
They put out some statement that Chatr customers tend not to use the kiosks and do their account management online mainly. So, they are converting the existign kiosks in some provinces to Fido kiosks. That doesn't make a lot of sense. I wonder how many malls need two Fido outlets. I expect some/most will just be shuttered.
Chatr was created simply as an attack brand against Wind and Mobi. No one was ever fooled into thinking it would be around for long, only long enough to inflict some damage against the newbies. It is dragging down their overall ARPU so it seems more likely they are moving toward dropping the pretense.

Hi Dragon3 - We wouldn't comment on rumour but in terms of the Montreal locations, we’re making changes to our wireless retail approach in order to better respond to our customers' needs in Montreal. This will allow us to better serve our Fido customers, as well as our Chatr customers as the majority of our Chatr customers in Montreal make changes to their account online or over the phone (as opposed to in-store).
However, our Chatr customers will still be able to buy top-up vouchers at the 7 Fido-branded kiosks. Chatr customers will also be able to visit any of our 88 third party retailer locations to buy top-up vouchers, inquire about services and purchase devices.

Oh, okay no problem!
Thanks for clearing that up. (I was only wondering as a friend of mine is on Chatr)
Chatr products are available at Best Buy anyway, you can buy a SIM and use any unlocked GSM phone. The vouchers are available at Best Buy and most supermarkets... So they don't really need kiosks or employees. It's like Petro Mobility, you can sell it through regular retailers.
I came on this site looking for more info.. i guess I don't get it ....how are you better serving existing chatr customers if you are closing all their kiosks and replacing them with FIDO.. seems you are now after new FIDO customers... just wondering as I have a couple of family members on chatr and wondering if I should look elsewhere ??? if you shut down all chatr kiosks , then are you not interested in increasing chatr customer base ?
