Any good options for pay-as-you-go with near unlimited text?

I may be asking for the impossible, but here's the deal: we're looking for a pay-as-you-go GSM plan, which would
carry very inexpensive texts to bring the monthly cost down to $10 or $15 (Plus voice calls).

This is for a teenager that uses almost no voice (but still some) and texts a lot...

You can get prepaid unlimited text, but they're not especially cheap (at least $25 / month, virgin for example). Is there anything better out there?

    try Verizon prepaid.
Paygo Minute plan + $20 Unlimited texts per month. they also have a nice selection of basic qwerty phones. check Radio Shack, Best Buy, Target, Wallgreen's, even some Dollar Stores for discounted phone options...

CON-Tracts??? We don't need no stinking contracts!

Curiously, TelnaMobile is a carrier primarily intended for international roaming. It works on T-Mobile's network in the US. It costs about $19/year to keep active plus about 8c/min for domestic calls. Included in the deal is 1000 outgoing texts per month and unlimited incoming texts. Not sure what happens if you go over 1000 texts per month. That's over 30 per day.

Thanks guys! Verizon unfortunately isn't an option as we're looking for a GSM (we have a phone we want to use). I've never heard of TelnaMobile, this sounds like a great option! Thanks again.

Additional texts (beyond 1000/month) are 3c a pop, very decent! Thanks for the pointer, this might be a winner.
