I like "iPhone" personally. Calling it the iPhone 5 makes no sense to me IMO. Either call it the iPhone 6, iPhone LTE, or just the iPhone

Eww, leave that nonsense to samsung and their ilk. Actually, it's like the video that looked at how microsoft would package the ipod.
I voted for "new iphone." The numbering thing got screwed up when they introduced the 3G, even though it was technically iphone 2G (2nd gen.). I do think iphone 2012 would also work, but I hope they keep it simple.

i'm predicting that it will be next iphone will be called the "new iphone." only because with the ipad's name change, apple seems to want to back from habit of giving it's product a new name with every new generation. matter of fact no other product except for the iphone and ipad had such designations.
