I was very fortunate to get this loyalty dept only deal when it was offered a couple of years ago. So, I guess I can't complain too much about the possibility of losing unlimited data.
I actually have the family plan version of it. One of my phones is available for upgrade now. The other 4 are eligible in late July. It's really only two phones I am really concerned about.
All are 3G. My daughter and I have the incredible 1. I am thinking of upgrading her to incredible 2 so she can have a global device. I am not sure what phone I want next (bionic, nexus, razr, razr maxx).
The best buy guy told me that by the summer, the incredible 3 should be out.
Now I am not sure if I should wait for that. This whole thing about losing the unlimited if I wait has complicated the whole process, which is never easy under the best of circumstances. I am thinking I should upgrade them as soon as possible.
Even if I postpone losing the unlimited data for a couple of years, I will eventually have to worry about it. I wonder down the road if I do buy a subsidized phone for one of my lines, will I lose this plan on all lines? My current upgrade is actually a feature phone and I am thinking of at least using that upgrade now to help out.
Has anyone discussed how this plan will work under the planned changes?
I will call VRZ and see what they have to say, but this plan was always confusing to most of the CSRs. Guess I need to call retention and talk to them. Not expecting them to have any answers.
:-(

Yeah, just wait it out. Since your current upgrade is your feature phone you'd be forced onto a tiered data plan for that line anyways. Verizon has said that before they roll out their new family share data plans that they'll announce it before it happens so people can decided how they want to proceed. At the same time, you may want to take a look at your data consumption. If it isn't that high family share data may actually be worth it for you.
