5/18 got an SMS from TMo with an "EXCLUSIVE OFFER to improve your in home signal at no additional cost."
Never had a problem at home (though have had lots of issues at work since getting a T989). Ever since, though if I'm in dual mode, it's always on Edge unless I tell it HSPA only in which case I'm getting 4 bars of "4G."
Anyone else get that SMS and/or experience something similar? Satisfied customer for years but ever since the nightmare of the upgrade, I haven't been enjoying this as much. I'm thinking at the end of this obligation, I'm gone if it stays like this.

I received the same offer. Didn't call in about it though
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using HowardForums
I did get a new Sim with the T989 and have been using it since.
Not exactly sure what the offer was since I didn't call 611 to follow up on it.

I figured it was something like. It's mostly annoying to me because I never needed one at home before I got that message.I'm half thinking to do one for work but now would leave it at home.
Not bad in theory. The Cel-Fi solution doesn't have to piggyback off your home internet so I give T-Mobile props for that.
The hardware isn't cheap. Does T-Mobile give you guys an option to buy the $500 hardware out right for those not inclined to renew for 2 years?
You could try and get your connection to the network refreshed. But it might be due to the dual cell network in your area and the phone itself. I notice it kicks over to EDGE at my gym then back to 4G on a few occasions, and in another place it gets 3 weaker bars of HSPA, and if you deathgrip it -- you get 0 bars then it pops back up to 2

I don't believe they will. But you can purchase it direct from Cel-Fi for full retail at:

Or do like I did, and pick one up on eBay for $175 :-) I have great reception at work now. (60+ year old federal govt building with all brick and metal construction with minimal windows)

Be aware that the Cell-Fi system only works if there is a weak 3G signal outside your house. I tried it last October and the agent did not check that (or even ask me as I could have told them). I was able to return it and reset my contract date with no issues.
I got the offer too, but refused it. I've got WiFi at home, so I use that option there. My small town is classified as a rural area, but my coverage has always been good.
