Question New Account and Employee Discount

I am planning on opening up a new VZW account and getting the GNex or Razr Maxx (haven't decided yet).

My employer (not VZW) has a deal with VZW that gives a 25% discount (on the monthly bill, I believe). If I go into a store to open the account, will they be able to apply that discount when I sign up for the contract?

If I buy the phone and open the account through Amazon (which has the GNex for $150 less than stores do), I haven't seen any place in the web order form to input the discount details. Would I have to change to the discounted plan after I receive and activate the phone? And if so, would that trigger the ETF through Amazon, since it is a change in the plan?

Thanks in advance for you help, guys.
I have no dinosaur in this orgy.

Don't come on here asking how you can cut retail commissions and then get an employer discount. This is the employees and agents forum, not the "customer Q&A session."

Yeah you're not going to get a good response here. Cutting our profits by shopping at discount online stores and wanting our help.

James and vzwinagent, whats with the attitude? This is what this forum is all about, helping out the potential verizon customers. We are all on the same team after-all.

Medusa, dont mind my friends above, it possible they just had a bad day at work.

Now back to your little dilemma:
Want my opinion? Skip the Samsung Nexus and the Maxx, both crap phones. Instead , get the Pantech Breakout or call up Telesales and ask if they still have any of the Samsung Gem left, you might be lucky to snatch the last one in their warehouse.

As for your company discount, its a simple process. After 4 months of service fax over your ID and Customer Agreement to 800-922-0201. If after one month there is no response, visit your local Best Buy and present the documents stated earlier to the branch manager and he will be able to apply the discount on the spot.

Youre welcome in advance and please feel free to tell your friends about this service that we vzw employees provide on our spare time at HOFO.

I just opened up a new line of service last month and ordered the Pantech Breakout. It's a fantastic phone, absolutely no regrets.

I've heard that you can fax in your employee ID after 3 months, instead of 4. I plan on doing that in a few months.

According to my VZW account manager there is no time limit. Also, there's a website where you're abke to enter your company e-mail for the discount. I'll post it once I get to work.

If you want professional help with your phone about if its wise to roll the dice with buying it online, go to an Amazon store and ask them.

I know what you're thinking ... "I've never seen an Amazon store." You get what you pay for. In every sense of that phrase.

Go to VerizonWireless.com/discounts and enter your email address you have with your company. If you don't have that, go to a verizon agent or store and give them a copy of your pay stub or work ID. It takes 1 to 2 billing cycles to apply the discount.
