Rumer: 30 day guarantee changing to 15 days

Per Teamuscellular.com it is rumored that the 30 days for return/exchanges will soon be changing to 15 days. Could it be that they are finally realizing that 30 days is way too long and they are losing huge amounts on equipment due subsidizing 2 phones for each customer that returns their phone. The other thing is all carriers that sell the iPhone are 15 days and changed due to Apples terms. Now I don't know if that is an indicator of getting the iPhone but it is one change that would have to be made.

Interesting find. Maybe some stuff is going on behind the scenes. I've used the 30 day exchange before, but it does seem long.

Really, you should know within a couple of days if you're going to keep your phone.

This policy is really the only thing different about USCC from the big guys! If true, what's really keeping me from going to VZ or AT&T? Absolutely nothing.

This is true. I figured if USCC is going to price like the big boys I might as well just go to the big boys. I really wonder where this company is heading. Have they just decided it's time to position themselves for a buyout?

Hopefully, if they get bought out, Sprint can afford them. They need some decent off-highway coverage, and that's about all USCC has to offer.

I don't know. Verizon scares me of late, what with their $30 upgrade fee and the recent attempt to tack on a $2 "convenience fee" for paying your bill by credit card.

30 days is too long if it is ATT, Verizon, or Sprint. But not USCC because their phones suck so much and they come out so far apart that you need like 4 months, not one. USCC is really pissing me off lately. I need a new phone, but their is NOTHING I want right now. So frustrating.

The 14 days that Verizon & Sprint offers is not per Apple's terms; they did that just to save on returned equipment. AT&T is still 30 days, however.

    Verizon's 3G network. ............................................ AT&T's 3G network.

    Verizon's 4G network.

Yea, this is rather unfortunate. I have to think it is a direct result of selling way more iPhones than they anticipated and them trying to recoup some of those costs. However, the fees and costs to have the iPhone are just the price a person pays to have it though, so it isn't too big of a deal (and they could be much higher and would still be worth it to have the iPhone).

USCC and Sprint aren't that great of a fit--Sprint doesn't want to run a rural wireless network. Sprint has repeatedly taken steps to make themselves only a metropolitan area and highway network by shutting down their network in more rural areas.

I think the best choice would be a sale to AT&T or Verizon and a divestiture to the other where USCC overlaps with the main buyer (and they can keep or divest Chicago and St. Louis customers to whomever they want--many carriers already covers those areas well, and USCC doesn't have that large of a customer base to worry about).

And this is why I think Apple should just start their own Cellular network. Apple is sitting on a ton of cash and could easily buy out T-Mobile and make them the 'exclusive' carrier of the iPhone. That way they can have their own network, own terms, and people can deal with Apple exclusively only.

Speaking of Apple, looks like USCC has to worry about this also....

Att or Verizon won't buy USCC at the price the Carlson's likely would demand. They have a history of selling companies very late and as long as their still making money off of USCC it's unlikely they'd sell at a low price and there's nothing to make ATT or Verizon buy at a high price. Unless its Sprint USCC won't be bought anytime soon.

You guys' comments crack me up. At the same time USCC and every other cellular company loves you all for this very reason. People "needing" the latest and greatest to keep up with their neighbor. I bet at least 75% of you don't even need a smart phone except to say you have one.

For what I do I need a cellphone yes, but your right 90% of consumers don't need bleeding edge. Heck I have a optimus and minus the small HD I do everything any of my friends with iPhones and Razers etc. Most people don't realize they don't need bleeding edge.
