Set 4S to still ring handset when paired with Bluetooth?

Is it possible to have the (Sprint) iPhone 4S still ring the handset despite having a bluetooth headset paired? (Dont care if it requires a jailbreak)

The handset should ring unless you've flicked the ringer switch on the side.

you didn't read the post, he's asking if there's a way for the handset to ring when paired with a bluetooth headset. And just like when you plug in the headphones, all sounds now go to the bluetooth headset when paired and the headset is turned on. It kind of defeats the purpose of connecting the headset to your phone if the phone is just going to keep ringing anyway.

If you want to have the phone ring, you should get one of the Motorola flip headsets. You can keep it closed and in your pocket (therefore off) and when the phone rings, open it and it automatically connects to the phone.

I agree with Telekom. My AT&T iPhone 4 will ring whether on a wired headset or attached to a bluetooth unit, unless the mute switch is on. I don't know if there is anything different in the 4S.

I think the original poster wants the phone itself to ring (like through the phones speaker) NOT JUST the headset, you seem to be talking about your headset ringing when you get a phone call, which is normal behaviour, but your phone itself does not ring, just the headset attached or paired to it.

Whether both the handset and the headset rings is probably dependent upon the headset in use. My handset rings along with the headset when I am using a Samsung WEP 460 Bluetooth headset.

What I mean is the phone speaker rings and whatever headset is attached also rings unless the mute switch is on - then only the headsets ring.

I think the conclusion is we all agree that the phone normally does what the OP is asking, both the phone and the handset normally ring when paired...

The only thing I can think of is that the OP has a device that has a profile that specifically disables this but I am not aware of any that do.

Is everybody insane except me? The phone is not supposed to ring when the headset is paired. Why would it? What logical sense would that make? When you have a headset on, it ONLY rings though the headset. It never rings through the headset AND phone. If it did, what would be the point of having your bluetooth headset on if everyone around you can hear the phone ring? I have owned the Motorola V551, Razr V3t, Razr 2, LG Xenon, Iphone 4 and iPhone 4S and between two Motorola bluetooth headsets over the years and none of those phones have ever rung on the handset while the headset is paired. It's always ONLY rung in the headset unless it was off AND THEN it would ring on the headset. For the people saying the the bluetooth headset AND the phone both ring when the the headset is paired, I think you need to post video and bringing the phone and headset to and from the camera to prove it, because this is NOT the way it works, and again, what rationale would there possibly be to having your phone AND headset all ring at the same time? Why, again, would your handset ring when your bluetooth headset is on? The whole point of the headsets is to ONLY let you hear your phone, not everyone around you.

I keep my phone in my purse. It pairs automatically to the blue tooth in my car. When it rings, it rings over the car speakers first and if I don't answer immediately, the phone itsself also rings. As to why it makes sense - I don't always answer immediately, because maybe I'm screening calls. Since I have personal ring tones set up for important contacts, I wait until I hear the phone so I know who's calling to decide whether or not to answer it. I don't remember if my Plantronics works the same way or not since I almost never use bluetooth except in the car. If I get bored later, I'll check it out and report back.

However, I doubt that I will be bored enough to record a video to post to satisfy those who claim it doesn't work this way.

Most people use a bluetooth hands free system when in a car. Ether a built in always on system that may pair with the phone automatically when in range or maybe a visor based one.

If the phone didn't ring you would miss calls all the time when near your car.

If you are one of those people that walks around with the headset on you can always flip the mute switch on the side of the iPhone to only have the Bluetooth headset ring..

    It is very simple....
