Why would that be helpful if PayLo phones can't be activated on a BT account?

Not everyone uses BT smartphones. There are a substantial number of subs that still prefer Talk only, as well as Talk and Text phone service. For those subscribers a new PayLo device line-up has been missing for too long. Hopefully the new devices will include a Slider phone, a touch-screen phone, and a better quality flip phone in addition to an updated bar phone. The new $40 PayLo plan option is good but they could have hit one out of the park if they had included Unlimited Web instead of the 50Mb cap.

It depends, a 1x-Rtt basic phone would have a hard time getting to the 50Mb mark. On the other hand a basic qwerty device featuring 3G evdo technology could easily reach and surpass the 50Mb's.

Ok, so that's now three + weeks that the paylo phones are "temporarily out of stock". I wrote to CS and got a fairly useless response about "continuing to check back", but nothing about WHEN the phones will be available. You would think they'd be concerned about losing sales like this.

Does anyone know anything about when the Samsung M575 will be available again? (Yes I know Best Buy has it, I want to use my cash balance to pay for it. Thanks!)

This is the longest period of time that I have seen an out of stock issue with Virgin Mobile. Maybe they are trying to liquidate all existing basic devices.

Has there been any indications/sightings of new basic cdma devices headed for Sprint/PayLo ...

I think they want to sell out the only one remaining Paylo phone. That phone has a $40 credit good until 6/4 I believe so maybe by the end of next week, I hope they will have new phones.

I hadn't thought of that. You're probably right. Maybe by Monday we'll have something to look at. This "out of stock" thing is annoying as all get out!

You can now add the Virgin Mobile EVO V to the Temporarily Out of Stock list @ VM's website. It seems to be selling well at most retail locations too.

Apparently it was very temporary. The EVO is in stock now.

I can't understand Virgin Mobile and their advertising

    Guys,

I've got a paylo phone and a couple grandfathered Beyond Talk $25 plans in the household. I was checking virginmobile.com today to see if there are any new phones for the paylo. The first advertisement on the virginmobile.com website is for the paylo "Forty never looked so good" $40 unlimited talk and text. When you click on the ad, it takes you to the paylo page showing three of the four phone "temporarily out of stock"

If you were going to advertise your paylo plan, shouldn't you at least have all the phones in stock? Maybe that makes too much sense?

The longer they're OOS, the more I'm convinced that some new handsets are coming to PayLo.

If you're not determined to buy from VM or paying from account balance like the OP, there are other places to buy all of the OOS handsets. I bought an M575 in the last 2 weeks from an online seller on Amazon.

It would be nice to see them soon. Even though people are focusing on the EVO V and the iPhone, there are still plenty of PayLo'ers around. My teenager has been using my old Arc on the $.20 basic rate, and the thing is finally dying. I was hoping to check out some new phone releases before replacing it for her. Guess I'll keep watching the website like everyone else. *tapping foot impatiently....*

I was responding from the view point of a new Virgin Mobile Paylo customer: You like the plan, then you go to select a phone and only see 1 of 4 in stock. Might turn you away to another carrier.

Makes sense. If we're both right, then this persistent OOS situation certainly implies that PayLo is a low priority for the company right now.
