Um. You can just purchase a voucher from a gas station once you cross the border with your US credit card and then refill from your phone.

Go on google maps and find the nearest post office, store, gas station, convenience store, drugstore etc that is across the border. Phone them from home and ensure they have prepaid Fido vouchers. Hopefully you don't have to travel too far into Canada before you reach a place.
Hi guys, just returned from my weekend in Montreal. If anyone is paranoid about driving into the border without Fido coverage until you hit a store, you can get a $10 voucher code the night before you travel from ths websiite. The only issue is you,ll pay $14 for $10 voucher.
I dd this cause i didnt wanna be drving in PduQ without coverage until i hit a store......
Am I missing something here? Why do you need a phone so bad from the border to the first gas station? I like being connected as much as the next guy, but isn't this a bit ridiculous?
You know that 911 will work on your phone even without a SIM if it's an emergency.
Hmmm, he didn't answer. Maybe he was smuggling and needed to know where the airdrop would be as soon as he crossed the border, lol

the likelihood of your car breaking down 10 min into the country is extremely slim. I mean, no one even had cell phones 20 yrs ago and people were driving all over the place. you must have a different reason. It's ok you don't have to tell us. lol
