Just to give everyone a heads up that solo mobile has officially come to an End as of May-17-2012. This means that Solo Mobile is no longer taking on any New Activation/Customers. As of right now they are still supporting there existing clients but I have a feeling they we eventually migrate every one onto Bell.

Thanks to WorldIRC I managed to get onto one of the Zoned unlimited Talk & Text $35 Canada Wide Prepaid Plan before the 17th. Hopefully one day they will let have that plan on a HSPA/LTE Sim Card but as of today it can only be on a CDMA Phone.

I think they will send those accounts to their other discount brand, ie, Virgin Mobile. There is already a $35 unlimited plan but no LD... oh well, maybe they will grandfather those accounts.

um... what happens if you have spare SIM cards for Solo? or even prepaid phone package that was not activated?

Are the ESN's and SIM card #'s moved over to Virgin/Bell database?

Well you can still activate the phones on existing accounts, they just stopped taking on new clients and hspa sims cards were never allowed on unlimited prepaid.

But they are selling them in the store as we speak! Kinda scammy!

Out here in the Vancouver area, all the grocery stores stop carrying solo phone now. Which Stores are you refering to?

I will take a "spy pic" this week-end of the display case with the old Solo phones and SIM cards on sale...

I have been keeping an eye out for a price drop on the Samsung Cleo (CDMA) usually they liquidate them out but now it is kinda pointless to buy one eh?
