Does my Iphone need to be unlocked?

I have a 3g iphone that I was wanting to use with tmobile prepaid. Does it need to be unlocked?

Yes. It will need to be carrier unlocked.

Call or email At&t as they are now unlocking most iphones for free, including some people who are still in contract. Got my iphone 3GS unlocked and using T-Mo $50. plan and all features working, including MMS (pic messages). I get Edge speed, but it's fine for email, Google, etc., and always on wifi at home. Tried Att/StraightTalk SIM..horrible reception at my home and in my sales territory in N. Ca. If you have good Att coverage in your area, you should get 3G speeds. Good luck! Btw, you do not need a Att account to have the unlock done...seems to vary by rep on the phone.

Thank you. I bought this phone so I am not the original owner but i'll try to get it unlocked. Its just the Iphone 3 so since its older maybe they will. Shoot Everyone I have talked to wants me to have an ATT account and proof of purchase, and tons of crap
