the LG OPTIMUS Q has a physical keyboard android 2.3 OS and runs on sprints (no roaming) prepaid network.
the droid 3 will not work with straigh talk. if you wish to stay with verizon there is the new android Samsung Galaxy Proclaim but it does not have a qwerty keyboard.
if AT&T/t mobile work good in your area you can get the byod sim and then buy the android you want and put it on straight talk

What I was asking was what phone FROM AT&T has a physical keyboard, latest OS and front face camera? I was interested in one but I could just use a Droid 3 on Verizon if I wanted to. But was curious

Sent from my LG-VS700 using HowardForums

I have a suggestion. Post your question in the ATT forum. In the regular forum, not necessarily the prepaid (gophone) forum. They would know the features of ATT phones.

I think you're thinking about something like the Samsung Captivate Glide?

Basically just with the front camera too. Ill ask them on that forum. I mean i wouldn't mind having the iPhone but i like Droid and i like to continue using the Mini SD Card too for my picture storage.

The Droid 3 will work with ST. I'm using one on Net10 now. It's one of those global VZW phones with dual CDMA/GSM. It takes more work than swapping out the SIM, since you must root and switch the radio files and make the phone think it's a Milestone 3, but it's definitely possible.

There is a guide on XDA Developers that shows you how to do it. The easiest way is to use the files in this post:

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=154

    Full thread is here:

OP, make sure you read through the last few pages of the thread, as the guide in the original post is outdated. Keep in mind that once you install the new radio, it will disable the CDMA antenna, so you won't get Verizon signal any more.

Also, you will need a SIM unlock code from VZW. They will give it to you for free, just call and ask. Make sure you do this BEFORE you cancel. The unlock codes come from Motorola and are based on the phone's IMEI, but VZW changed some of the codes. You can buy the unlock code from third parties, but it does not work for all of them.

Edit: Nvm Thanks for all the info! that stuff should be stickied... For the people who are crazy enough to do this like me haha.

I'll be sure to post up a guide for ST if I get a D3 working on it since no one else had yet.
