Thanks BobbyLee! That makes sense to me. Hubby has a 220C that he has had for a while but I used a different zip for it & it has always worked fine. Until now I have always used GSM phones for myself. I do love this phone.

I'm having problems getting the speakerphone to work during a call. I press the speaker button, nothing happens. I tried holding it down until I hear a beep but still nothing happens, sounds keeps coming thru the earpiece. What am I doing wrong? I am pretty sure I got it to work once or twice when I first got it, but not anymore.

    update:
Can anyone else confirm hitting the speakerphone button during a call does NOT work? According to the Attune manual: During a phone call, press once to activate the speakerphone. Press again to deactivate the speakerphone function.

This does not work on my phone, I have to hit the volume button then hit the speakerphone button on-screen.

If I am NOT in a call I can turn it on by holding it down, but that is kind of useless, then it just makes the phone beep really loud when you press anything.

OK problem was that you have to press the "press and hold to unlock" button before you can press the speakerphone button. I don't know why the phone automatically locks when you make a call, it is really annoying.

Its awful, the browser is complete garbage, and seems like something they shoehorned in so they could put "Web Browser!" on the box. Loading most web pages results in "page too big" or similar message because it seems to not have enough RAM memory or something. It also does not support inline images or anything of that nature. Regardless, the extremely low resolution of the phone would make viewing most images impractical (240 x 400). In conclusion, if you want to mobile browse, do not get this phone, it is useless.
Tho someone did mention Opera working on it, but I have no experience with that. Seeing as how the phone seems to lack memory required for a proper browsing experience, I don't know how a bloated peice of software like Opera would ever run on this phone, I just don't believe it.

Why do you think Opera Mini is bloated?

Not sure of the LG505c specs, but I know the LG800G and LG500G
The LG505C specs (memory/cpu) can't be that much different.

Opera has some optimizations that can improve browsing on the phone, reducing the amount of data that is downloaded (like images).

I would not say the browser is awful. I would just say not to expect much. Tracfone browsers are just not all that. Opera DOES make a difference. It IS faster. Also if anyone does Facebook, I would highly recommend downloading the Facebook app. MUCH better! Anybody have any luck downloading anything with a data cable? I can not figure out what I am doing wrong unless I need a specific cable just for the LG 505C because the one I am using does just fine with my LG 500 but it says it has downloaded to my LG 505C and it hasn't.
Some day I am going to have a
    ANDROID
    QWERTY
    SLIDER
    TOUCHSCREEN
    phone with voice command!

    opera mini questionI

I apparently installed the opera mini version that keeps asking permission - how do I unistall it on this phone so I can -re-install the correct version. I'm not really tech savvy when it comes to cell phones. Thanks.

I had to download some drivers. The cable for my (original) Nook works with the 505C. Next challenge is attempting to get my roadrunner email.

Has anyone been able to synch their lg505c contacts with outlook on their computer. I am currently using LG outlook synch and LG pc synch to synch verizon acolade and verizon octane phones - but LG says those utilities will not work with LG505C. Also, LG support says that LG PC Suite (similar name but NOT PC Synch) is for non-USA phones and I can use at my own risk, but LG will not support PC Suite in the US. If there is no synch program using USB cable, I would be willing to export my outlook contacts in VCard format to the phone SD card it that would work. Just looking to not typing in hundreds of contacts to the phone that I keep up on my PC using Microsoft Outlook. I would also use bluetooth if it would work in aync mode - but not one VCard at a time.

I have the same interest for the 500G, basically the same phone.

The 500G can save/send the contacts in a single VCF file.
Not sure what apps can read the multi-entry format it creates though.

I don't use Outlook so I don't know what it would do.

Looking for Opera / e-mail help...

Great forum, Howard, thank you - it's already been immensely helpful WRT the SD chip dependency and other nuggets of truth. Like most of us here, while I find the value of TracFones irresistable, but the customer service and technical support will make you gnash your teeth!

I'd love to hear any details you might provide, nwtothis. I'm trying to get e-mail working on my LG505; my first attempt to do so via the default-installed browser & Yahoo's hotmail failed miserably...

    Thanks!
