Anyone have experience with the newest version of the i7? Is there a significant increase in performance between the two generations? Will it typically be worth the price bump? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Multimedia multitasking, gaming, HD streaming... etc etc.
HD streaming doesn't take much processing power.
What resolution monitors are you powering?
3 1920x1080s, one of which is my HD TV,
Is this going into a laptop or desktop? Either way you're probably better off saving a few bucks with the older processor and buying a beefy graphics card.
