    Group text, WTF!

How do u tell who sent a group message on an iPhone. I get the messages, but it just has a long list of people in my phone book. I just got one and I know who sent this one (by just the pics) but others I have no clue who sent it.

In the conversation, the sender's name should be above the individual message. Replies in the thread will go to all the individual addressees.

Ya that's what's weird, the name isn't above it alone at all. All I get is a list of everyone. My blackberry would have the name it was from, then below it was all the others.

I used to determine by whose name showed up amongst the numbers and if there were several friends I'd just assume who was most likely... I also just asked too, lol.

It's not though. For a group message, instead of the sender's name or number, only a list of recipients is displayed. Definitely seems like an oversight not to identify the sender.

I just looked through my message list and all the group messages were sent by the first name in the list. What I want is a way to opt
out of the discussion if I am not really going to be involved. While some are important: "I'm stuck can any of you pick up....?" others are like: "I'm going to Target what do we need?" It's really annoying having your text tone going off repeatedly for something you don't care about.

Your service provider may offer certain opt-out features. The iPhone just displays whatever messages are being pushed to it from the network. It has no way of knowing whether you deem the content of a particular message to be important or not.

I don't know if it matters how many recipients are on the Group message but absolutely does show who sent what on my phone.
