I wonder whether anyone can help? I have just gone over from a Nokia to a Samsung Galaxy S2. A few months ago I was trying out a Samsung Galaxy Pro B–7510. One of the things that annoyed me about this phone was the way that it messed up my MP3 collection. I naïvely was hoping that it was a problem when this particular phone. However, when I tried the same memory card in a friend's Galaxy S2 last week, I got the same problem.

With the Nokia, the MP3s are all in one directory and the MP3 tags sort out the album and artist selection. This does not seem to work in every album on the Galaxy. For instance, my 70s and 80s collection are named Rick's 70's collection & Rick's 80's collection, respectfully There is another collection named Rick's Driving ballads. The songs in these albums are not grouped together, and each song is recognised as an individual album. My friend suggests that on the Galaxy S2 each album has to be in its own directory. This makes a lots more sense to me, as this is how I use to do things with the Archos.

My first question is, is this correct? My second question, depending on the answer to the first one, is that does anyone know of a quick way of moving songs based on their album MP3 tag into a directory? Of course I could do it to by copying the songs of each album into a new directory, but just in those 3 albums I have over 600 songs. I am just wondering whether it is the apostrophes in the album name that are causing a problem? Could just removing the apostrophe sort the problem out? I am asking, rather than trying, as I have not yet taken receipt of the phone and it might be a couple of days before it arrives. I was hoping to sort this out by the use of a card reader before the phone arrives.

Thanks for any help given.

Richard.
