Angry SO MAD!!!! New Virgin Mobile mifi plans

So I purchased a VM Mifi to use with my ipod touch/ipad.

I am just sick of the games and general BS of the carriers that I am trying to move away from it. I have a year left on my Sprint contract and when it expires I am done with contracts.

So I get the VM mifi because the $10 and $20 plans were exactly what I needed.

I just wanted something I could toss in the car to have data on the go. I have wifi at home and at work/school and don't need alot.

The $20 500 mb was plenty.

So now the same type of bait and switch crap Sprint pulls has invaded VM.

I don't need 2GB of data and I sure as hell am not paying $35/mo to be able to check twitter/email in the car.
I already pay Time Warner $40/mo for home internet.

In addition...this whole 4G deal is crap. I live in Green Bay. We do not and will not ever have WIMAX.

And...the VM Mifi 2200 is NOT a 4G device anyway.

But like Sprint and their bogus $10 'premium' data charge VM is gonna make me buy a 4G plan for a 3G only device.

    SO SICK OF THIS CRAP!

Now somebody please explain something to me. It says in my email that if I continue to use the same plan I can keep it.

I don't have a 'plan'. When I activated the mifi I got a $10/100MB plan to make sure it worked and I liked it.

When that ran out I got a $20 card and got the 30 day/500MB plan.

I don't use auto-renew. When my 30 days is up I had planed to just buy another $20 card when I felt like it/needed it.

How will I be able to keep using the $20 'plan' like my email says?

Am I obligated to top up every 29 days to keep it?

When I log in will I have the option of the $20 plan? Will I have to register a credit card and let them take it each month?

    How does this work?

I am seriously tempted to just return it to Best Buy and live like a hermit.

I liked the VM plans because they represented CHOICE.

I thought VM was an oasis for those who are sick of being burned by the contract carriers but it's the same BS.

How long til VM charges $80 a month for their phones?

2 years ago it was. In 2012, VM is a company owned by a corporation that is flirting with bankruptcy. The new front-burner priority is REVENUE. $10 and $20 a month occasional-use services don't produce enough of it.

No amount of yelping on the Internet will change the fact that VM is now required to produce more money to help its parent company stay afloat.

I recommend you pay for your $20 plan every month if you want to keep it and if it costs you less than occasional use of a $35/month plan will cost.

If you use the $20/month plan now it will remain available on your account for up to a year. You don't have to put money on it every month. Just don't change to another plan after July 4.

Actually I'm pretty disgusted myself. I have my Broadband2go account to use occasionally while traveling. I wish they would stop messing with it. The 500MB for $20 works perfectly for this purpose. I just don't understand why they can't keep at as an option along with the two new price points.

    EXACTLY!

My wife and I go to Milwaukee/Chicago once in a while and I anticipated having that $10/100MB plan for those trips so we could have maps, etc on the road or to look up info/numbers assuming I didn't already load up a 500MB plan, etc.

I get the whole revenue deal but I demand choice and you can get my $20/mo or you can get ZERO. Your choice VM/Sprint.

I'm done being a mindless consumer eating up what I'm given. I'm taking back control of my wallet and if I have to go w/o so be it.

That's a good deal. But if the original poster happens to have 4G coverage, see map, then there are some free 500mb/mo. options such as FreedomPop and NetZero. Devices are USB dongle, MiFi, iPhone MiFi case.
