I bought a brand new Simple Mobile sim card off ebay. It came sealed in the official Simple mobile packaging.
I tore it open, inserted the sim card in my iphone 3gs, and the iphone didnt even detect that there was a sim card inserted (It displayed "No Sim"). I inserted my old tmobile sim and it said "No Service" indicating that there was a sim card inserted.
I tried both sim cards again on my blackberry 8900, and it didnt detect the simple mobile sim either.
This Simple mobile sim card has never been activated. I just submitted a port request to Simple Mobile, so that is why I was seeing wheter or not the Sim card was working.
Will my phone detect the simple mobile sim card after it has been activated/ported?
I just switched to simple mobile and have an Iphone 3g. At first it said the same thing "no sim detected" turns out it wasn't in there all the way meaning I need to get my phone fixed but until then I taped the sim down real good to the sim tray (the tape not touching the back of the sim just the front) and occasionally I have to push real hard on the top of my phone were the sim goes in.
I also had a tmobile sim card that I ended up having to do the same thing to so in my case its a phone hardware error.
For you though it sounds like (if the tmobile sim works) then yes it may be faulty.
