Angry No Service 2 Evenings in a Row

Friday evening, I go to use my phone and it says not enough money to complete this call. I have the $50 unlimited, so I call. Hour and a half, 2 hours and 3 people later I have a working phone.
Saturday evening, I go to use my phone and it says it will connect me with a verizon representative to complete this call .......... by adding funds with card. No service again on my unlimited call. It was too late to call this time.
About to call again in a few minutes.
Why is it doing this 2 days in a row?
I have the new Samsung Proclaim.

Did you just activate this phone? If it is a new activation, it is probably not completely activated. There can be multiple steps with a CDMA phone, since there is no sim card to do these things automatically. The multiple steps are easy, but they have to be done from the handset.

Activated on 5/16. Activated for over a week. Suggestions?

Have you ever done the *228 thing? It gets the full programming from Verizon. Net10 sends some programming, but it might not be enough. The phone needs to be properly registered with Verizon, not just with Net10. The procedure is to dial *228 as if you are calling someone. Then select Option 1. This will not mess up your phone that I am aware of. I have done it to a properly working phone just because I am obsessive. It did not have any adverse effect that I am aware of. After Option 1, you can redial and select Option 2. This makes the phone use the preferred roaming partners by loading a Preferred Roaming List (PRL).
