The text of that thread says:

My friend who is doing working currently in the telecommunication industry as an advertiser for one of the big 3 a was telling me that moblicity's sole purpose and its strategic timing to enter the marketplace ay the same time as wind was coordinated and secretly backed by he big 3. he is telling me that while Wind is a legit internationally backed threat to the Canadian 3 moblicity is secretly funded as an arms length saboteur against wind. Moblicity's sole purpose is to slow the growth the wind by stealing their market and forcing the price cuts on wind.in the short turn big 3 will have to male some cuts but he says they are hoping wind gets tired and leaves and then suddenly moblicity will file up. He says moblicity has the telltale signs such as non profitable pricing and hardly any expansion compared to wind.


I don't want to believe it but there seems to be some truth to what he's saying.

So ... what do you all think? IS Mobilicity a 'closed door' Robelus backed project to destroy wind?

Definitely not, and it can be proven with one simple point. If the Big 3 were using Mobi to hurt Wind then Mobi's service would be far better then what it is now. Mobi would get prime locations on the Big 3's towers for their antennas, and instead of being broke they would be well funded and would be rapidly expanding their network.

Cheap and good would hurt Wind, but cheap and terrible helps them. If this was indeed a big plan from the Big 3 then they failed miserably.

You obviously didn't read my post. I said if something like that were to happen then Mobi would have money and good service, which they do not. They are broke and their service is terrible, so that disproves your conspiracy theory.

Unless you figure that they're purposely being bad, to make it seem like they aren't owned by Rogers.

Not that I believe that, but when you go to conspiracy land, you almost always make a few stops in crazy town.

I love me a good conspiracy theory, they're always good for a laugh.

Having said that, at Bell's AGM a couple of weeks ago, WIND was mentioned as being a legitimate threat and were already responsible for a noticeable negative impact on both pre and post paid subs. There was no mention of Mobilicity, Public, and, surprisingly, Videotron.

Maybe that feeds the theory, maybe not. But I'll have fun watching this one!
