Im in an area where they are testing Sprint LTE. I did a speedtest with the EVO LTE and I got 12mb down and about 8mb up. This is great.

What city are you testing in?
I'm in Highland Indiana. I can't believe it. It's not even in Chicago yet.

Wow, those speeds are awesome. Take advantage before more people jump on Sprint's LTE network!
how is your battery usage with a 4g lock?
Battery life is not that good. Even on 3G the battery is not good.

I've gotten better speeds with Verizon, but its some of the ping results that are impressing me. I'm excited to see what Sprint can do. We need all the competition we can get.
Sprint has been running LTE in Kankakee for some time now.
Highland is just a stone's throw so that explains it.
Well hopefully Sprint really has a good plan for managing that bandwidth--even though those speeds are awesome, chances are you were the only one on the tower, or very close to it.
As everyone upgrades to an LTE device, those speeds will take a dive. If they can produce a consistent 6 megs, that should get everyone through until they can get the 800 LTE in place next year.
I'm still very optimistic--but it's hard to tell with so few users on the network. I live near two of Clear's "lone towers" and can pull down a regular 10-12 megs at night, and for the first month it was up, got that all day long--but it has gotten slower during the day (3-5 during the day) as people around the area have realized that there's a local "4G hotspot".

There are a flurry of reported LTE service on user's new EVOs today.
Merrillville, Indiana was reported today in a forum:

I pull a average of 9mbps on Wimax in my neighborhood. If I can get anywhere near there of better, I will be a happy camper.
I like that there is the ability to turn off 4g still on the new Evo so not everyone will be using 4g all the time when 3g will do. I know I dont turn on 4g for most simple apps that dont require a fast connection, only for tehtering, streaming video, and some web browsing. If most users have the same mentality as me (especially with the ability to do 3g data and voice simultaneously), then that should help to keep the LTE tubes from getting clogged.
