So it has been about a year since I've sold my Docomo F01a and I was thinking about getting back into keitais. The only problem is that I don't want to deal with CPR again. So is it true with a software unlock you don't have the CPR issue? I'd really appreciate it if you guys could give some input or experiences with software unlocked keitais.
Thanks in advance
From what i learned,
- yes software unlocked phones you wont need to cpr
- for docomo, i think it was the winter/spring 2011-12 models and after can be software unlocked at their store for a small fee, just make sure the phone your buying supports the bandwith? of your provider.
- for softbank, their phones are still locked so you would need to find someone who can provide the software unlock.
Maybe someone with more experience can correct me or add on though
There's a few softbanks (pre-smartphone) that are soft unlocked but those usually go to HK and come back unlocked.
The softbanks for the early ones have flashed software that allows for adjusting APNs lol. Docomos are flashed as well but still retain japanese software.
After you unlocked the phone(i am talking about docomo official unlock)-
-no CPR
-no mms and 3g internet for non android phones, only wifi internet for web browsing works.
-3g works on android keitais
Well I don't get mms or 3g to my phone anways so it works out haha
I've was looking on ebay for an unlocked one and I forgot about the crazy prices people will charge for them.
Do you guys have any other websites besides ebay or do any of you have an unlocked one you'd be willing to sell?
