If your phone breaks, will you still get voicemails when getting a new one?

So I "washed" my LG Venture in the washing machine today, completely forgot I had it in my pants pocket! Needless to say it's done.

Unfortunately I don't have a spare VM phone to use in the mean time, so I'm thinking I'll just hold off till the 31st and get the EVO 4G. (The cheapest VM phone I've seen at Best Buy was $50, and really would rather not spend that much for a phone for 4 days use.)

Just want to make sure that while I don't have a phone now, when I get the EVO any voice mails I missed will still be there and it's not somehow tied to the phone itself.

Leave the voicemail to yourself from your house phone and then check it from the same one, as a test

you can call your phone from any other phone and check your messages.

    here's how it works...
    .call your cell phone
..when your greeting starts press the STAR Key.
...Enter your Voice Mail PIN number
    listen to your messages, etc.
CON-Tracts??? We don't need no stinking contracts!

Your voice mails are not answered nore stored by your phone, it is a remote service thus anything you do with your phone won't effect it.
