(I know you are a manager, but I want to speak to YOUR manager a senior manager) after that instruct them to manually change your plan to the $30 plan and then back to the $45 unlimited plan. When they start this process (even if they don't tell you to) turn off your phone and remove your battery. That takes around 10 minutes so be patient and that should be it. Great I'm so glad to hear that this helped you man! One of my best friends switched to straight talk last week and he's already being throttled! He is too lazy to go through this process tho,and now he is paying for it. He is hoping that when he refills, that they will somehow UN throttle him, and I am really not so sure... Yes , that is the logic going around in these forums, but I have yet to read from someone that was throttled, that became UN throttled, after 1 month of being throttled without making a call.. can anyone confirm that they have been unthrottled after being throttled for a month without calling?

P's, the reason my friend got throttled within one week of starting ST is because he is a genius, and went ahead and tethered a whole streaming boxing match. IN HD to his computer... I told him not to.. now he says he doesn't care and doesn't want to call ST like I suggested, because he is a lazy *** LOL
I WAS TOLD BY MODERATORS TO CENSOR THIS,BECAUSE I HAVE AN OPPINION.
HOWARDS FORUMS IS GOING TO BAN OPPINIONS SOON,SO GET YOURS OUT THERE WHILE YOU STILL CAN!

I certainly didn't get the throttle lifted after refilling twice and even changing my number.

That's right. You have to call specifically to mention it and get lucky. What did you mean by after you changed our number. How did you do that ? You prolly didn't activate a new sim with a new account right ?

I would love to know how to do a working Speed Test on my iPhone4.. both Speedtest and FCC app register at zero.. how the heck do I do a real speedtest to see what I'm getting?

    Dslreports.com/stest

Then pick one of the mobile browser tests. I'm sure ST blocks most app enabled speed tests. Those pull a big 0 for me too.

    This is easy...

The reason the SpeedTest app won't function properly is because there's a hidden (to you) Tracfone APN proxy server address installed on your iPhone's APN profile. This proxy server is blocking the download function of the SpeedTest app, and it also blocks video streams, etc.

The solution is to install a fresh new APN profile on your iPhone which deletes Tracfone's APN proxy server.

    To do this:

    1. Download and install Apple's iPhone Configuration Utility (both Mac and Windows flavors are available).

    2. Using this software, create an APN profile per the instructions found on THIS WEB SITE, except (AND THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART) leave the APN proxy server field blank under the "Advanced" setting tab. The proxy server port should already be "0" in the software, but if not, change it to that.

    3. Install this new APN profile on your iPhone.

There are two ways to install the new APN profile onto your iPhone. The first is by a direct connection using a standard iPhone sync cable to the computer running Apple's iPhone Configuration Utility, and is the method referenced on the instructions.

A second method (which I prefer) is to export and save the APN profile from the Configuration program to the computer. It'll be saved as a binary .mobileconfig file. I then email this file to myself so I can pick it up and open it on the iPhone... no connection of the iPhone to the computer is necessary. To install the APN profile on the iPhone, I simply tap on the .mobileconfig file attachment in the email.

By having the APN profile saved in an email on the iPhone, it's always available to me so I can quickly reinstall it should I need to change profiles on the iPhone when switching between carriers (typically when switching between an MVNO and AT&T).

    Best regards,

    John L.

Pretty sure you can bypass all that by just going to http://unlockit.co.nz or jailbreak your phone and use TetherMe so you can edit your Cellular Data Settings.

No, I called and filed a ticket on their FB page in reference to throttling and nothing happened. So after continually emailing them an being on the phone at least 1 time a week 2 refills came and gone quickly and I was still throttled so as a last ditch effort I changed my number and it still didn't help. Tech support insisted I wasn't throttled so finally I got a new sim and activated it with another new number and I'm not throttled now.

Well mine isn't "blocked" but I get ridiculous results. Sometimes it doesn't give me any results for the download and a weird one for the upload. The mobile browser ones have much better results.

Unfortunately, using an APN profile from the Unlockit site won't eliminate an APN proxy if you have one. I verified this through testing.

I can do a speedtest without any problem using the speedtest app from the App Store. I've used both the unlockit method and the TetherMe app.

    Works for me.

I have a BYOP and I just tried this. They switched it to the $30 plan and back to $45. I tested the data speed and I'm still at the same .15 Mbps.

    I'm pretty annoyed.
