LG Optimus T P509 - Legitimately unlocked, now I lose my contacts and keyboard?

I just unlocked my Optimus T with a carrier unlock code. It all went well.

The next day, I noticed that my contacts are empty, and that the phone lost all the passwords to my two google accounts. I add those back in, still empty contacts. Then, I set Contacts to display Tmobile, SIM, and both google accounts. Most contacts come back, but not one I entered a few days before the unlock.

Well, crap, I chalk it up to random crap. Okay, so I go back into enter recent contacts. I also now find that my keyboard is now prehistoric. Instead of the regular keyboard I had from day one (where keys have multiple uses, and holding a key down gets you the Shift), now I have a hard-to-use keyboard with no shift capability. I have to constantly go back from ABC to 123 board layout.

The contact I can cleanup over time.

The keyboard--- a major pain. Is there a way I can get the intelligent keyboard back?
