^ this. I rooted/cyanoed my Desire to fix it's problems. I didn't even really see a reason to root my SGS2... (I still don't have a reason, I did it just for fun lol)

But then again, damn. It wasn't too long ago that I got my SGS2, and _now_ USCC decides to get a new phone in a somewhat decent timeframe? What is this world coming to? :P

Well Ennon they still have yet to give any info on it. Also appear to only be considering the 16GB version.

I just hope that it costs similar to the Telus price.

Hopefully we get a lot of news on it over the next few weeks. In the meantime, I'll be looking at how others report back on it.

Don't hold your breath... USCC wont release this till late Q3 early Q4 is my guess. They will be 2-4 months behind like they were with the Photon and Mez... but hey that's a lot more bearable than the 8 months behind on the S2.

I won't be. But there should be some leaked info (rebate form or some other type) within the next month as the US launch nears.

SIII is $800 retail. Going to be at least $300 after rebate.

And I thought the $279 I paid for my Galaxy S was a tough pill to swallow. Ouch!

The aviator has a $450 discount for a new 2 yr agreement, plus the $100 rebate. Using that same amount, maybe (fingers crossed) it could be $250 after rebate, but probably not.

When I finally do upgrade from my Desire (timeframe for a release date on the GS3 will be determining factor), I may not even bother with rooting it.

Really only rooted my Desire for the additional app space.

I have absolutely no issue with a carrier loading up software on the phones. My problem is making them uninstallable without effort.
I rooted my Desire so I could run ICS. Runs brilliantly--like having a new phone.

Does anyone know when you pre-order, what kind of information do you need. Does it need to be the main person on the contract, or can someone with another line pre-order?
