SIM cards are compatible with all phones?

I assume your selling it unlocked(why would anyone want to buy a phone locked to MTS)

How do you unlock the phone you intend to sell?

I thought I-Phones needed to be jailbreak.? In order to be unlocked?

Forgive me as I am a noob when it comes to cell-phones.

As long as you're paying your bill, MTS doesn't care what you do with your hardware.
I can't see MTS caring if you do that. Most of the sales people I've dealt with understand that MTS' phone line up sucks. That way you can keep the new phone new, and not even take it out of the box. As long as what you bring in is unlocked and they can easily set up the APN, it should be no problem. You are paying for the new phone and can do what you please with it as long as you continue to pay your contract.

You could easily sell a phone locked to MTS. There are people that break their MTS phones and just need another one to put on the network. Or they plan on unlocking it themselves.

As for how to unlock, my Captivate was easy. Root phone + install unlock app= profit!

    Thanks for the responses guys.

So I have a potentially stupid question. I currently have a wireless account with MTS. It's on a non smartphone plan.

So say I bought a used smartphone but then went into MTS and bought a iPhone and signed up for a contract. Is it the SIM card that gets activated or the iPhone itself? IOW, Is all the information about my plan, phone number, etc, carried on the SIM card, and I can just plot it into another phone, or does the phone itself need to be activated and tied to my account somehow?

    I hope that made sense.

It's the SIM that gets activated, not the phone.

Yes but with the BB you need special data set up for data to work properly on any of the systems.

I do not think that is the case with MTS. I have switched between BB Iphones and Androids all with different sims BB and non BB. Its my experience that the activation is direct to RIM servers and has nothing to do with the provider.

So, IF I sign up for an I-phone plan for $45/month.

I can take the SIM card out of the I-Phone and use in a 3G LG Optimus 1 phone?

Which phone is the easiest to sell right now...I-phone or Blackberry?

I think you'd have to get an adapter to put a microSIM card into a normal SIM card phone.

You will get more $$ for an iPhone than a Blackberry.

You can always buy another SIM card for $10 from MTS. That might be cheaper than an adapter.

The adapter is like $1 from various online sources.
