    Exclamation Electrify Root?

    Can someone point me in the direction on how to root my electrify? i'm new to the whole rooting thing. but the dang thing comes with some much bloatware. thanks guys

    You don't need to root with the electrify to remove the bloatware. Just uninstall the program you don't want. It's one of the few Android phones you can remove that garbage (aka CityID).

    yeah i recently found that out, but i would also like to flash it with a different rom if possible

    I suggest you look at teamuscellular.com for more info. Too much to explain in one thread...

    Long story short is that only certain ones can be unlocked...I was able to root mine but not unlock.

    So no custom ROMS for me at this time....but having root access does allow some apps that require root access.

    Clint3200 is right. There is a lot to do on it. I also have an electrify that I can only root it it.

    The only way you can unlock your phone to install different roms on it is if have Android version 2.3.4 or if your phone came with 2.3.5 on it from the store. If you did the ota update on it (like me and many others) your stuck with the stock motorola os.
