For the replaced phone I would try again in a week or two after they have had time to get a little experience with the policies and a few team meetings to discuss issues like yours under their belt. Likely they can accommodate you, but they just need to figure out some procedure for validating warranty replacements first.

I just called client care, and they told me I had to take the phone to a Telus kiosk or store to get it unlocked.

Which number did you press? Was it for Tech support or "something else"?

And does anybody know if the store or kiosk can actually do it?

Right over the phone, straight from pressing 0 to get to a live person on the line. It was no hassle at all. Once done if by syncing the phone in itunes you don't get following msg.....congratulations your iphone is now unlocked.....then a restore will be required and the msg will appear after the restore is done. Then just try another sim card from another carrier.

However I couldn't get it unlocked, even though I got my 4S from telus in October of last year, they wouldnt because I had it replaced by apple in May due to a hardware issue.
Even though I offered them the AppleCare email that explain why my serial/IMEI changed, they said I have to wait until August.

Now while I was disappointed, and I do not like the fact that the 90 day rule applies to warranty replacements, I'll wait.

Ironically apple replacements used to be the loophole at Rogers to get them to unlock incorrect iPhones.

Just got my I4 unlocked. Took about 40 minutes due to some account issues, but now it is all done now. I switched from the I4 (after having it on the account for 2 years) to the Galaxy Note a few months ago so the I4 IMEI was not currently registered on the account. Telus was able to see its IMEI history but I needed to put the Telus SIM back into the I4 so that the Telus system could pick it up to fulfill on the unlockig requirements.

Just got my wifes iphone 4 unlocked. took around 50mins since needed to backup and restore. the rep was great and made sure everything was good before ending the call. Overall a great experience! :-)

Maybe, but the leaked eligibility requirements make no mention of contract status. To
believe it might need to be out of contract would require making assumptions that there are additional requirements. Any Eason to make that assumption given Telus policy for other unlocks and the leaked requirements?

Smart move for TELUS to offer this with less requirement compared to Rogers/FIDO

Rogers wont Unlock until you complete your contract, dont know why they have to wait like this as if you cancel you pay the penalty anyway, Its a WIN / WIN. and How Many people will really unlock a 3 Year Old phone for $50.00? 95% of these phones will have Bad Batteries already and the rest well other issues.

Telus is Smart here. They know that after 90 days if thats the case they can earn $50.00 per phone unlocked and phones are still usable. More people will go this way.

I remember calling the first day a couple times but no one could help me. Called in today and had it done in less than 10 minutes. So awesome, just increased the value of my iPhone!! Ready to sell!

Nope I got mine unlocked but had to restore and re apply the jailbreak.

With Telus unlocking iphones now, is there a limit to how many phones you can unlock?? Example lets say I Unlocked my Iphone today. could I add another Iphone to my account,(different IMEI) use it for 3 months, and then pay another $50 to unlock the New iphone??

I would assume so... As long as it is a Telus Iphone....

I unlocked two phones at once. My s2x and my iPhone 4.

Where? When purchased from apple store with no contract it is unlocked right out of the box...

Otherwise who would pay full price for an iphone and go to a carrier to buy it? That's just dumb.
