Does the contract have to be complete?
^If the phone only has to be active for 90 days, obviously the contract doesn't have to be complete.
Thought as much, I'm just pleasently surprised.
Unless they stipulate "device balance must be at $0"
They haven't yet. The account holder is still on the hook for the contract/cancellation fee whether their phone is locked or unlocked, so I don't see why that would be necessary. I think the 90 day stipulations are just to try to minimize theft and fraud.
Unlocked Pentaband iPhone 5 (AWS), unlocked iPhone 4
Unlimited airtime, Unlimited CAN/US long distance, Unlimited SMS to CAN/US wireless numbers
2500 Call Forwarding minutes to CAN/US numbers
CiD, 6GB
Google Voice for visual voice mail with message transcription, conditional greetings, unlimited messages (vs 35 message cap), remote retrieval from any PC or phone, no auto-purge after 10 days and most importantly no $7-$8 charge.
$53
how this will work? in store or over the phone?
This is such great news IMO. Finally. Now to get "The new iPhone" from Telus or from Apple at full price???? Decisions decisions. I guess it depends if they add AWS or not.
Same questions here ...
Anyone can answer ...

Wonder if Rogers and Fido will change their policy to match, since with them you have to finish the contract either by waiting out 3 years and by then it will be obsolete or paying the termination fees. I don't think Bell unlocks iPhones.
First their Anytime Upgrades which makes the whole termination fees thing more fair and now this. Plus the Call Display they started adding to plans a couple months ago. They sure are making carriers seem less scary.
hello, i called telus thursday afternoon once i found out, and it only took a few minutes. I had to then connect my iphone to itunes and do a restore, once that was done, a message stated that my phone was unlocked. I tried a bell and chatr sim card, and both worked. yippee!
