Will my Nexus S work on US carrier?

I wasn't sure where to post this, I hope this forum is OK.

I have a Nexus S on Mobilicity (3G frequencies 900/1700/2100 I think). Can anyone tell me how to find out if this will work on any US carriers in Arizona? I looked at the T-Mobile website, and it seems they have 4G plans only... Will that work with 3G too, or do I need to find a 3G plan.

Sorry for the dumb question, but i'm an idiot!

the Nexus S is actually 2G (850/900/1800/1900) & 3G (1700/2100) , your phone will work without issues as Mobilicity has a roaming Agreement with T-Mobile, it will work on 3G (when available, as T-Mobile also uses 1700) and if 3G is not available, it will work on 2G (850/1900)
I cracked & signed up with Telus. I couldnt resist the Free Phone, $300 airtime credit, and EPP ($20+tax : 350mins, unlimited early evngs /wknds, cd, vm, unlimited NA txts, NO SAFS or 911) With the $300 credit its like having a free year of phone service.

T-Mobile's 4G is actually "3.5G", the SAME as Mobilicity!

T-Mobile is expensive, I would suggest go with Straight Talk,. They are a T-Mobile reseller, but their plans are cheaper and includes free calls to canada!

Mobilicity (and WIND) Nexus S are actually T Mobile's I believe... I don't think it was even touched because if you go to the bootloader it still states T Mobile as the carrier (since the phone's unlocked to begin with it doesn't make a difference).

    @ OP
Your Nexus S will also with at&t's 2G Network and like others have mentioned it will also work with T-Mobile 1700Mhz AWS 3G or (you can call it what T-Mobile calls it 4G Network) & will also work on T-Mobile 2G Network

Straight Talk have a reputation for harassing people who use "too much data". And their definition of "too much data" is more strict than what you'd typically think.

For $3/day you get unlimited nationwide talk, text and 200 MB/day full-speed data (rest 2G). That's a pretty good deal assuming that you're not staying in the United States for very long (otherwise, you can get a monthly plan that offers unlimited talk, text and 5 GB/month full-speed data (rest 2G) for $70/month. $60 if you go with 2 GB full-speed data.

Thanks for all of the advice, I will take a look into T-mobile and Straight Talk. I average only around 100 MB of data a month as I'm on wifi 95% of the time. I don't talk much on my phone either. I'm not really sure what would be the best plan for me.

And, I am planning to move (back) to the USA from Canada, so I will be in the states long term... if that makes a difference.

If you were only going for a few days, the T-Mobile pay by the day would have been the right choice. But if you're absolutely certain that your data usage will stay that low, Straight Talk is your best choice for long term.

I was just looking at the coverage map on the Straight Talk website (http://www.straighttalk.com/Coverage), and it shows very poor coverage for the Android phones. Is this correct? Or, will my Nexus S be on a different network (?). I looked at the T-Mobile site and it has much better coverage.

Sorry if this is a silly question, clearly I don't know anything about phones! Thanks!

My understanding is that the Android coverage map up there is for the Androids they sell directly - which I believe run on the Sprint prepaid network.

You'd have the same coverage as any postpaid tmo user, and could roam on ATT.

Unless someone else has any info to the contrary?
