Yeah I checked the Virgin Mobile website, for 4G in my area and there is none. I was actually thinking about bailing if there was decent 4G coverage.
Well... looks like I will wait and see if Metro puts out anything good. These moves by Virgin and now Cricket SHOULD light a fire under the decision makers at Metro.
Why can't we get a phone like the Evo 3D on Metro? I know its an older phone, but better screen, processor, Ice Cream Sandwich etc... than the Esteem! Also it's cheaper lol...

I did the same thing in the past try tmobile and sprint both signals were low at my job so I kept metro I mean living in Florida metro is like a no brainer maybe they will release high end phones sooner than later my esteem is holding on pretty good but like you said that evo 3d does put pressure on metro to try to release something better to stay competitive

Very competitive, Both Virgin Mobile and Boost have gotten the HTC Evo retailing for $299 which IMO is a better handset than the LG Esteem now priced at $379. I personally am considering switching to either straight talk($45 a month), Boost(as low as $40) or virgin mobile(i can live with their $45 plan) Im not a heavy data user so a cap of 2.5 gb does not concern me.
MetroPCS "4G" speeds are just not there for me i get lucky if i get 2mbps for download consistently now. Save about $5 to $10 get a bit more freedom on handsets, and basically get similar service.
Just gotta research a bit more, and see what works better in my area before i do the jump, i would like me a Galaxy Nexus or a S3 on straight talktheir data speeds are reasonable
cricket plans up till now are not unlimted and they do not offer 4g and lol iphone theres nothing i cant do on a iphone that i cant do on my esteem plus more. if any other prepaid carrier want to really make a metro customer envy then they need to get a real phone perhaps like a samsung note or a galaxy s 3 until then i keep laughing at these cheesy phones![]()
boost getting Iphone 4 and 4s
If Boost Mobile is your wireless carrier of choice, then you might have a new smartphone option to choose from this fall: the iPhone.
The Sprint-owned, pre-paid wireless service provider is apparently gearing up to introduce the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S in early September, according to a Friday report from TechnoBuffalo, which cited a "trusted source."
The rumor comes a day after Cricket Communications announced that it will be the first pre-paid carrier in the U.S. to offer the iPhone.
A Boost Mobile spokeswoman declined to comment when contacted by PCMag, noting "we don't comment on rumors or speculation on our product portfolio."
It's uncertain whether Boost will offer the iPhone with its $50 monthly Unlimited plan with Shrinkage, which includes unlimited talk, text, and Web, as well as $5 bill reductions (down to $35) for those who pay their bills on time.
In addition to AT&T, the iPhone is available through national carriers Verizon Wireless and Sprint, which jumped on board with the release of the iPhone 4S. T-Mobile is currently the only major U.S. carrier that does not yet have the iPhone, thanks to network incompatibilities.
Well rumor is that now boost is joining in the iphone frenzy. I am an apple fanboy just becuse in ios i never see it freezing up or rebooting or apps force closing. I dont ever see the iphone lagging at all like my esteem. Metro really needs to atleast come out with a high end android not these 1 GHz of phones. The iphone is only dual core and runs 800MHz and runs better than any phone ive seen.

unfortunately if you are looking for prepaid like myself, your iPhone options are 8GB for the 4 and 16GB for the 4S. 16GB is plenty for me but if you want more storage you may want to consider the Android offerings.
I love iOS to the max also but after weighing many options I think I'd prefer an iPhone on a major carrier. that said I'm also considering I could get a Galaxy Nexus unlocked and milk the sh*t out of the savings I'm having with Simple Mobile until I pay off the carriers I owe. shoot since SimpleMobile is owned by tracfone now I may be able to just get an unlocked iPhone from Apple from now on in the future.
I am one of the few people on HoFo who will always support an Apple purchase but if storage is a big deal you may need to look into the big carrier iPhone options or a good Android. personally as a fan of iOS and the device support, only the Google devices appeal to me since they get updates until the hardware no longer supports them(ala Apple).
I don't care about device turnover, if I get a high end device it BETTER get at least two major updates, ya know?
Will Telus/Bell offering the iPhone finally bring Canada inline with 2-year contracts
