Rare Unreleased Prototype phone i found on ebay

This is the us cellular version of the Verizon LG VX8600 that was rumored to hit the market in early 07. Unforuntately it never came out. This particular phone has had the outside faceplate replaced and it says verizon but it says U.S. Cellular everywhere else on the phone

Well, you most likely wouldn't be able to activate over the phone, since that ESN likely isn't in the system. Take it into the store, and since the 8600 was never approved for uscc, they'd likely decline to activate it as well, if they got past the VZW logo on the case. Who knows?

I would be willing to bet that you could get it activated over the phone. I have won different phones over the years from various deals that were phones that did not come through USCC inventory and I simply called in and they activated it for me. As long as it is a proper model that USCC has carried I don't see a problem..
And yes they were supposed to carry both the 8600 and 8700 but there were some issues with another device and that was held against them so those 2 devices were scrapped from USCC roadmap.
