Mobilicity $19/month deal.. what's in it?

    Hi,
My dad got a mobilicity phone during christmas with the $17+ (around $19with taxes) / month plan .. No contracts I believe and it says it has unlimited talk, data, text etc.

He wants to use that phone to surf the net.. Can anyone tell me does unlimited data actually mean unlimited internet (free to download, watch youtube videos etc? I don't want him to get a ridiculous bill for going over the limit.. $17 ($19+ with taxes)/month plan does sound really cheap for phone calls and internet usage if you ask me.

    thanks

It's impossible to get dinged since mobilicity is based on a pay to use model. Interneted is unlimited however there are restrictions on speed. Don't expect to torrent or download 20-300gb a month. Usually it's normal cell phone usage around 5-15gb usually is okay. Some people don't even get past 1gb.

300GB/month? haha will never get there... I barely use up my 70GB on rogers on months I consider myself to download lots. Hopefully this $19 plan will be enough to surf the internet daily and watch youtube videos. Just wanted to make sure that my dad won't be surprised with any bills at the end of the month. He just shut off his internet with rogers after they charged him for over usage twice.

No need to worry about over usage

Thing is I think that plan returns to full price after one year? If I remember correctly?

    Teksavvy > Rogers.

I've convinced everyone I know to switch from Rogers to Teksavvy. Switch to Teksavvy and be free of the overages.

I saw your post on RFD also and thought to let you know the ultra cheap Mobilicity plans that you see (such as the one in this thread) are usually from the 50% off for 1 year promos.

The cheapest and best promotional Mobi plans are (+ 2OFF promo from before) $25 BTS, $25 FnF (if you need Canadian LD and calling features instead of data), and $35 FnF.
