Yes, you need the BYOD sim card. Other sim cards from Straight Talk phones are locked to the phone they came in with a few exceptions.

Hello, I have the galaxy S II Skyrocket from At&t and has been using T-Mobile SIM Since from purchase.
I just bought a straigttalk phone and called StraightTalk customer support about porting my number to their network. T-Mobile has permitted the migration and ST has completed the thing, but however, when I insert the ST SIM CARD inside the Skyrocket, it says "No Sim Card" and the SIM receives/makes calls when I put it on the ST Phone. Do I need to buy the "BOYD" SIM CARD separately in other for it to work on the AT&T Galaxy LTE? Am just confused, I need help on this.![]()

Three to five days for fedex ground.

Go GSM! Switch phones on demand.
Also, you won't get LTE speeds on ST. You should get good HSPA+ speeds, but not LTE.
I get between 6-10 mbps on my SII SR for straight talk.
