Is 400 dollar Cricket iPhone worth the price? What do you think?
Cellphone provider Cricket would be the first mainland U.S. company to offer i Phones on a month-to-month plan. If you aren't fanatic about having the latest tech, but instead want a reliable phone with long battery life and the biggest selection of apps, you should at least try Cricket — or possibly Boost, should the rumor prove true.
I think it's a good deal financially, because Cricket gives you a $150 subsidy without contract, which nobody else does. It's either subsidy with contract or no subsidy at all, so from that angle, Cricket is a fantastic deal. As far as service goes, that's a little less clear. From what I understand, average data speeds and data reliability on Cricket are even worse than Sprint, so if you rely on data connectivity, it may not be such a good idea after all.
The other problem with Cricket is that their network is dual-band PCS/AWS, all other phones they sell are dual-band PCS/AWS devices, which iPhone of course is not. So if you use an iPhone with Cricket, you'll have normal service in Cricket's PCS markets, but you'll have either have no service or roam only service in Cricket's AWS markets.
PS: Cricket is not the first US carrier to offer iPhone with month-to-month service plans. AT&T and VZW (and probably others) have offered iPhones with month-to-month service options for a long time, provided you bring your own device. What Cricket is first to offer is a subsidy for iPhone without contract (as stated above).
I am a little confused. My Verizon phone was able to roam on GSM because they used TDMA. Tell it was shutdown. The phone recognizes it as Analog. If PCS has TDMA, It could be technically be used on GSM.

I think the only issue is that it will be locked to them and you won't be able to use it with another US carrier unless you Jailbreak it. Im not sure but for the $150 they're throwing away thats probably the clause.
Virgin is an MVNO of Sprint. Cricket just signed a 5-year nationwide roaming deal with Sprint. However, Cricket has a roaming agreement with MetroPCS, whereas I don't think Virgin does. The networks should be almost identical with Cricket's being slightly larger.
Call me an idiot, I paid $660 for a cricket I-phone. Read more: http://www.cricketus

So what's your point of view about it?!
No, Theres no outage in my area. The phone worked flawlessly for one day., one glorious day after plopping down $554.60, plus another $105.93 for the Apple care....Its the network and it sucks and I knew it but i took the bait and bought it...Its Saturday night and Im surfing the web and getting unable to load messages, all of this after 3 hours and 7 Indian cricket operators who keep repeating steps 1. turn your phone off and on. 2. turn on AP mode for 30 seconds then off and 3. Go into general network settings and reset them.
What a joke, its just I knew it and the jokes on me. At least talk and text still works, just like an old flashed phone!
