    Huawei U8651 any good?

Hey, I have the Alcatel Tribe and it's a piece of garbage and was thinking of getting a new phone.
I would prefer an Android (2.3 at least), and was looking at said topic phone and was wondering if it was any good.

Yes I know the best Android phone would obviously be the Nexus S, but I'm cheap. I don't want to spend a lot.
And I don't care about looking for non-wind Android phones, even though I know they'd be better. I'm also lazy. lol
The only choices I see in my budget is The Huawei, Samsung qwerty one and maybe the Optimus.

I need a phone that lasts at least a day. The Tribe doesn't even last 6 hours for me, even when watching the background apps and features like a hawk.
I'm having trouble finding info on this phone aside from it being the T-mobile Prism in the US.

    Thanks!

The Nexus S is definitely not the best Android phone out there. You can probably buy one used for $150-$200.

Well, no matter which phone you get, you may have problems with battery life, particularly with a weak signal. So if you make some changes, you'll be happier with any phone. In order of normal consumption:

Display: The widget called Power Control or Power Manager allows you easily control five functions.

3g radio: In general, I only turn on mine when I need it. Even on my flip phone, I turned it off and get a week on a charge. Play Store has a Fattin Data Toggle which you use as a widget.

I doubt you'll get a day on any phone depending on phone and use. But managing your consumption will increase your satitisfaction with any phone. If you're not using these, hope it helps.

The Huawei U8651 is a decent device but battery life is almost the same as the Alcatel Tribe.

I would recommend the Samsung Gravity Q if you want to buy one from WIND and want warranty on the device.

The LG Optimus 2X is discontinued so it will be difficult to buy one from WIND. You could buy one used but that is up to you.

A small tid bit, especially for those who complain about WIND's warranty process. WIND will no longer start doing over the counter exchanges for phones beyond the 14 days 30 min policy for returning phones. WIND will be sending the phones out for repairs starting sometime this month or next month. Don't know the details yet.

    !
I have it for around 2 weeks. Its battery life is ok for a day for talk only. But if you use it for wifi and bt noon-stop, you need to top up the charge say after 15 hours.
I bought it mainly for wifi tethering to my playbook on the road. For that the battery lasts only for around 2 hours top. But micro-usb cable is everywhere which is handy indeed unlike the proprietary jack of Sony/iphone/Samsung.
It is a great device and I just wonder why people needs internet stick at all!
    Hope the info help you

I have this phone. Its decent. I had a galaxy s2 so I can compare if you want. Battery life is average. Screen doesn't scratch a lot. Comes with 3 battery back covers. Red, white and black. Its a good size, fits in your hand well. Comes with 2.3.6 GB. Some Google play apps don't work on it but if you download the apk, it will install. Its a good phone for a 0$ tab.

I got the u8651, good phone for the price. I charge it every 2 or even 3 days, but I don't talk much and usually keep wifi off unless I need it.

Then you can't use wind tab. The huawei is free with windtab even on the $25 plan.
