    Verizon Smartphone Old Plan

Okay, my daughter is on the old smartphone plan. She needs a different phone, as hers is messing up. Can I still switch phones online and keep her current plan, since they no longer offer it? If so, can I activate a droid 2 global on it?
Don't want to lose the unlimited data and am afraid to try it.

call prepaid customer service, they will provide you with the most current list of phones eligible for those plans.

Operating without a contract makes you far more valuable.

I didn't really want to call customer service, it is always such a hassle. I was hoping someone here would know if it can be done or not.

What old smartphone plans? The one with byod and $30 add on unlimited data for Blackberries, Droids and Web OS devices? That is very much alive though not on their website. Minimum is $74.99 for 450 anytime and unlimited night/weekend/mobile to mobile and unlimited 3G data . I don't see how a Droid 2 Global won't work.

OK I called customer service for you. I said I was thinking about getting a new phone and I was wondering if I upgraded to a smartphone could I still go with the old smartphone 450 Minutes/Unlimited Talk and Text Plan. The Verizon rep said that the old plan was still offered and I could stay with that or get the $80 Dollar plan.

I didn't know if the sim card would somehow have something to do with it.

The 3G smartphone plans are still available, they are just not on the website at this time.

You can still opt for Droid 3, Droid Pro, and the other 3G Android devices that were previously listed. The plans all require the $30 Unlimited 3G Data add on.

Unless you really really need unlimited data there is no good reason IMO to be on Verizons old Impulse Plans with a smartphone.

Now that Page Plus is offering Unlimited Talk & Text with 2GB of data for 55.00 a month I fail to see the reason to be on Verizon Prepaid.

    Any thoughts?

It's for a teenager who is use to unlimited data. Don't want to lose that and risk overage costs.

3G Android and Web OS devices Okay. 3G Blackberries of OS 5 or later okay. This is not a complete list.
