Why do none of AT&T's LTE devices have the 900 MHz UMTS band?

It's being used internationally more, so why don't they have it? Most of their other phones don't either, although the iPhone 4S and iPad have it.
I usually support government regulation, but It is unfortunate that the government over-regulated and killed the AT&T/ T-Mobile Merger
The best explanation of the pricing nutiness in the industry.
Why Sprint and T-Mo will always suck.
The only way to end the pricing insanity is to eliminate contracts and subsidies.
I want Wifi calling on AT&T.
If you text while driving, you're an idiot. End of story.

Design and manufacturing. I've seen a lot of phones in the past that were either 900mhz or 850mhz UMTS.
    iPhone 4 on AT&T:

None of AT&T's current LTE phones. Is there a specific incompatibility between UMTS 900 and AT&T's LTE bands?

I think it's the space/equipment required to make it all work, so they cut out the one that is least needed. It's why a lot of phones were either 850 or 900 UMTS because they just tuned that part to wherever the phone was going to be used.

Phones or devices? The AT&T iPad has it. And I agree. It's like all the Wi-Fi devices (thankfully NOT the iPad) without the 5GHz band. It sucks.

Galaxy Nexus has it. I'll bet that the next Nexus device has it too. The previous Nexus devices (Nexus S and Nexus One) did not have it. It's probably a relatively new thing for chipsets to have both of those bands. Hopefully in the future it will be standard for all phones to have all bands (as well as 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wifi).

Gnex is not an LTE device though. Hopefully that is the case.
