Why buy a locked iphone from them when you can use that money and buy an unlocked one directly from apple?
Does the phones come unlocked until you activate on a carrier, or are they sim locked before being given to the carrier to sell?

Speed achieved using T-Mobile Samsung GS2
The purpose for someone to buy a CDMA prepaid iPhone would be for a specific monthly wireless service/price point.
Everybody keeps talking but has anybody actually bought the iphone yet or plans to buy it officially tomorrow beacuse the phone on the virgin webiste is 650 with overnight shipping plus TAX!!! Which is somewhat ridicolous but im guessing is that we cant buy it for 650 flat....

I'm a satisfied VM customer (and android guy) and I'm mostly in favor of any iPhone lover considering this device.
However, the only reason I think VM should unlock the sim slot is to give people the comfort of knowing that the phone will have some resale value. Yes, a CDMA iPhone on VM is essentially a different phone than the unlocked one you can get from Apple. You could say that a CDMA worldphone iPhone is probably worth a little more than a GSM only phone. If you unlock the sim slot you'd get more people taking a shot at it.
Maybe apple won't let them sell it unlocked.
Yup and in that time ill wait to see
If the phone price lowered atleast 100 or less and free shipping but to buy it right now for 705 is alot thats rent money. Wow its tempting to be one of the first to actually have it but that wont be happening price is to obsure.

Yup. People would buy this for the 30$ monthly service, which is the cheapest thing around by a lot. That's why I'm considering it. If you look at the overall cost of owing the phone, you have to add in the cost of the service into what your paying for the unit itself.
Go on the VM page on Facebook, seems like a lot of people have.

Would there be many out there that would shell out 650.00 for an Android?

Not for any phone. I had a hard time swallowing $300 for an android. I think $300 is the max extreme for pre-paid. You pay for it one way or another because either its all upfront or its 50 - 100 bucks upfront with contract and a $100 phone bill. I think the only reason VM did this was to help meet Sprints quota for Apple. I'm not anti iphone just anti over paying for a phone.
I'm gonna be getting an iphone soon anyway for work phone.
