I have finished using the long anticipated new jailbreak yesterday and used flashtotalk's sources withe new Cricket "carrierBundle" and "CommCenter Patch". Everything went smooth and easy, drove to Cricket today and the rep was clueless about the procedure to add the phone to there inventory and activate. First he said the network wasn't ready until the end of the month when they will "roll out" the iPhone and new iPhone only plan ( required to use iPhone on there system). Ahter a little encouragement he called someone and he was able to start it up. Everything was great until the ICCID number was now blank! Everything else is still there and calling *22898 connected me to Crickets OTA as well. How do i enter a ICCID or replace it???? So close..... yet so far away! Any help would be REALLY APPRECIATED!

Realistically they are doing it because Apple forces carriers to purchase a certain amount of handsets. If Cricket allows Flashed iPhones to be activated on their network they view it as an easy way round buying one from Cricket. If Cricket lets people do that then they worry that they will not sell the required amount of handsets that Apple mandates they sell and then Cricket loses huge bucks on phones they have to buy but no one is buying them because they all are bringing flashed phones over.
I don't use Cricket but it's a logical decision because of the requirements that Apple puts on carriers that sell the iPhone.
I still think thats a **** business model as it promotes anti competitive practices on device sales. I really think the government should impose for regulations and standards for handset interoperability on networks. It the only logical way to stop the pointless crap they are doing to keep customers from having choice. It's like your car maker forcing you to go to specific gas stations. something needs to be done.
It wouldn't necessarily cost to much it's the fact on how the US Government allows CDMA carriers act compared to other around the world, I was reading somewhere that CDMA phones in other countries have sims and aren't locked to one network permanently like in the USA. If the US Government carriers to cut the crap and make them world phones with sim card CDMA support it would promote REAL free market for consumers and would have the flexibility of using any carrier state side they wanted but sadly that won't come.
