Pocketnow made an article about it too, but they also said something along the lines of "..but will $35 per month be enough to deal with the phone's problems?"

So apparently the One V isn't that great of a phone

Still great to see all these new phones coming out though

They will have a very tight grouping of phones if they do get it. Evo V @ $300, Triumph @ $270, One V @ ~$200, Elite @ $150. Though I keep expecting the Triumph to disappear from the lineup, or at least get cheaper.

The One V isn't much different spec-wise, same wvga resolution (smaller screen though), same Snapdragon S2, same (spec-wise) 5MP camera. But the One V has no front camera and no HDMI. Of course it will have ICS, and also presumably it will get occasional updates if there are issues.

Some surprising items on that sheet as well - there is no Moto Triumph, Chaser is still listed as forthcoming, and there are only two PayLo phones on there.

No Optimus V, but not shocking considering it will soon be 18 months old.

With all these HTC phones and the iPhone coming, I wonder how much longer they are going to keep the Triumph at that price. It can't be selling anymore with all the other options out there. The One V will be a nice choice for people not wanting to spend $300 on a phone with ICS and HTC Sense 4.0.

I want to upgrade from my Optimus V (great starter smartphone, btw!), but I can't decide which gives more bang for the buck: The HTC Evo V or the upcoming HTC One V. Anyone tried out both and could offer advice?

The HTC One V not available yet. I personally am waiting for it over the Evo mainly because I belive that this being a brand new phone with new software to match its new hardware will be better than the Evo having older hardware being adapted to work with some upgrades. The Evo is a good phone (from what I have read,I have not owned one) but I also do not need 4G or 3D so I'll wait for the One V and hope it is better than My Motorola Triumph.

I might consider getting the One V if it didn't have the curvy-chin thing at the bottom. That looks like it would be uncomfortable when stashed in your pants pocket.

the chin's curve is actually barely noticeable from the sideviews i've seen online... it does stick out, but not by very much. try looking at some pictures/videos that show the sideview. Although i prefer not having a chin at all, hahah.

Also, I think the HTC One V is one of the thinnest cells on the market. I don't think the chin rest will cause it to drag in your pocket. Aesthetically, I find it superfluous.

There is so much wrong with this post it isn't even funny. The hardware specs are lower! The cpu is slower, then screen reslution is smaller, the GPU is 605 not 620. Hopefully the camera is an up to date unit but who knows.

The evo was top of its class when it was released, there was no short comings with its performance. It almost seems like it was made for ICS and sense 3.6 because I can't imagine using anything less on it. Even at the time the one v comes out, the evo v commands well the $299 price point.

Also the one V does not appear to have a front facing camera.

Will the One V have the same connectivity as the EVO V? Apparently it is not 4G... what is the point of buying a new phone that can't connect to the 4G network... the One V says 3g and Wifi capable. it does not say Wimax... should this be an instant deal breaker?

The new Optimus Elite is not 4g, but people seem quite happy with it. It's a mid-range phone with ICS and a 4" screen at a reasonable price point. Who cares if it has WiMax. If WiMax is a deal breaker, this phone isn't for you. But for many people it won't be.

The One V seems like a very logical step for a mid range price point of $199. After things like the optimus slider and wildefire S which were a bunch of more expensive phones without offering any kind of upgrade, the new lineup seems much more senseable.
