Does Koodo offer LTE data speeds?

Question is in the subject really, just curious. I'm currently with Rogers and am looking to switch to another provider but LTE data speeds would be nice.

Nope not yet. I bet Koodo will start offering LTE with the launch of the iPhone 5.

Virgin Mobile has went LTE so I'm surprised that Fido and Koodo haven't followed suit (unless Fido started offering LTE very recently. I haven't exactly been following MobileSyrup and HoFo much recently).

IMHO, Koodo has the overall better plans compared to Virgin Mobile. But if you want LTE and plans similar to Koodo's, Virgin is worth a look. Their $35 Incoming and myBuddies 10 plans are really, really good (especially the myBuddies 10 one if the myBuddies is more beneficial to you than unlimited incoming) and set them apart from Koodo. Though Koodo does have an unlimited incoming Canada-wide plan that offers 50 more daytime minutes but it starts at $40, not $35.

Some people have said that Virgin is just as good as Koodo now. But I disagree. I have the City Koodo Unlimited (Virgin has the exact same City Unlimited plan) paired with the $2 long-distance saver (which gives you 5c/min Canadian long distance) and $15/500 MB data connect. Virgin does not have a Canadian long-distance saver or a $15/500 MB data add-on. For my personal needs, Koodo is better. But Virgin's $35 Canada-wide Unlimited Incoming or myBuddies 10 will benefit a lot of people.

Friends don't let friends sign 3 year contracts with lackluster cdma providers.

I assumed Koodo, in this case, require an LTE SIM card which would have LTE provisioned on your account.... I guess not.

yeah i was pretty shocked too. I go to work today, look at my phone, and see the lte symbol lit up. figured it was a glitch or something but a speed test sure confirmed it.

Nope. Just regular micro-sim. I had been using a cut down mini-sim from spring 2011. Went and told them it hadn't been working recently and they swapped it for free.

Couple more quick questions. I just ported to Koodo yesterday and I saw on the back of my sim card booklet that one of the bar codes stated KOODOSIM3 or something very similar to that. I know that the version 3 sims for Telus are LTE compatible. Does your new booklet say that? Also one more question. I know that there was a pattern in the Telus sims.

Version one had six zeroes in the middle.
    Version two had five zeroes.
Version three (LTE) had four zeroes.

My new sim has four zeroes, just wondering if your LTE one is similar as well?

Assuming that Telus and Koodo kept the same patter I think I got an LTE one, but just figure if someone else getting LTE speeds has similar numbers/the same sim booklet I may be in luck and others would have an idea if they might also already have the correct sim.

^at the store the rep took the sim package apart and handed me just the sim. It was one of those orange booklets, don't remember if it said KOODO3 or not.

My old mini sim had 5 zeros, this new micro sim has 5 zeros as well. Weird, maybe it's version 2? Going to ask a colleague to check out his micro sim today, it's a few months old, I'm curious now.

Sounds good. My Microsim booklet is Blue and my card itself is orange on the side that doesn't have the number (not sure if these matter or if koodo has random colours like their website).

I wonder if they have any pattern/reason to the colours on the sims. This new one is blue and the booklet was orange. Same with some 6 month old ones I just looked at.
